Privacy Policy

Summary: I collect as little of your data as I can. Your data I do collect is safe. I don't make money by selling data.

This site is made by just me, Eric Normand. I make money by selling people products and services, like my courses and consulting. I do not make money by selling data because I find it distasteful. I wouldn't want my data sold that way (though I know it is on other sites). I base my business on trust.

I make conscious choices about the software I use. For instance, I do not use Google Analytics because they collect a lot of data. Instead, I use Fathom, which is a privacy-first service for counting pageviews. I don't know how much of a difference it makes, but I also feel like it might have some impact. I make other efforts to reduce the amount of information I have to manage.

I do, however, collect email addresses and other information. Email, I see it as a way to build a relationship with you. I don't want to send spam and I don't want to give you more emails to read than you want. But email is a better way to communicate than Twitter or the other networks. I always read your replies because they often turn into enriching conversations. I've even met people in real life that I first met through email. It's a valuable part of my life, and I'd never want to abuse it.

The other information I collect is done through forms that you must type in and submit. I actively eliminate plugins and tools that collect personal information without your knowledge.

Even still, it is very hard in the web environment to avoid inadvertently sending data to a bad third-party service. I do my best, but I would appreciate it if you would let me know if you find any problems.

Thank you for trusting me. I hope you find my site enjoyable and educational. Stay safe out there.

Rock on!
Eric
